Job summary

Vincere in Croydon is seeking a hands-on Quality Controller/QA to join our fresh produce business on a permanent night shift. You will inspect incoming fruit, check packed products, and monitor stock quality across a 4-day week (Sun-Wed, 22:00–08:00) with a 40-hour schedule.

The role requires attention to detail, strong numerical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. A full UK driving licence is preferred and starting immediately.

Quality Controller – Night Shift (4 day week)

Croydon, CR0 | £29,000 | Permanent Night Shift | Immediate Start

We are looking for a Quality Controller / Quality Inspector to join an established fresh produce business in Croydon.

This is a hands‑on Quality Control (QC) / Quality Assurance (QA) role, responsible for checking incoming fruit and finished products, maintaining quality standards and helping to reduce waste and customer complaints.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming fresh produce and fruit for quality, condition, ripeness and specification.
• Carry out quality checks on packed and finished products.
• Monitor stock rotation, grading, waste levels and product quality.
• Identify, record and report quality issues, including unsuitable or rejected stock.
• Work closely with Production Managers and Line Leaders to resolve quality issues.
• Check crates, pallets and packed products against required standards.
• Help identify training needs within the Production team.
• Support market purchasing and drive a company van when required.

About You

We are looking for previous experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Quality Inspection, Product Inspection, Food Quality or a similar role.

Experience within fresh produce, food production, FMCG, manufacturing, warehousing or distribution would be advantageous. Full product-specific training will be provided.

You will need to have:

• Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
• Good communication and numerical skills.
• The confidence to identify and challenge quality issues.
• A practical, organised and methodical approach.
• The ability to work accurately in a fast‑paced environment.
• Reliability and the ability to work permanent night shifts.

A full UK driving licence and forklift experience would be advantageous.

Hours & Salary

Sunday to Wednesday | 22:00–08:00 (4 day week)
40 hours per week
£29,000 per annum
