Job Description:

As a Quality Control Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all finished goods conform to food legislation, BRCGS, customer, and quality standards. You will be responsible for controlling the positive release of finished goods based on successful testing of finished products.

Duties:
  1. QC testing of raw materials, intermediate & finished products to ensure compliance with prescribed standards.
  2. Maintenance of testing records and recording deviations.
  3. Calibration and verification of laboratory & production equipment.
  4. Maintaining certificates of analysis for laboratory testing equipment.
  5. Identification & control of non-conforming products, ensuring affected products are held and communicated to the team.
  6. Coordination of external laboratory testing including microbiological, chemical, and allergen testing, ensuring samples are submitted and out-of-specification results are reported.
  7. Creation of accurate finished product certificates of analysis for customers.
  8. Formulation and label checks of finished products for accuracy.
  9. Regular audits of the site for compliance of products, processes & personnel to standards.
  10. Identify areas of non-conformance during audits and take appropriate corrective actions.
  11. Monitor plant cleaning and hygiene controls to meet specifications.
  12. Ensure documentation is correctly completed and filed.

Additional Information:

Location: Hetton-le-Hole

Hours of work:

  • Two weeks of days, one week afternoons, and one week night shift
  • Days: 7am-3pm
  • Afternoons: 3pm-11pm
  • Nights: 11pm-7am
