As a Quality Control Team Leader at DFS, you will lead and develop a high-performing team to maintain excellent product quality and operational efficiency. You'll be responsible for managing performance, ensuring compliance with company policies, and aligning processes with strategic goals.

This hands-on role involves prioritising workloads, overseeing timely repairs, and driving continuous improvement through coaching, training, and cross-skilling. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to manage resources, monitor KPIs, and collaborate effectively across teams.

Full time | Permanent | PM Shift

4-day working week

Salary up to £37,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage absence and performance within the section
  • Lead, develop and coach staff to ensure KPIs are hit
  • Implement succession planning
  • Ensure that the company's Health & Safety policies are rigorously applied
  • Ensure compliance with the company's policies and directives
  • Use a proactive approach to manage workload and staff levels
  • Ensure wages are correct and truly reflect section performance
  • Ensure daily loads are cleared in priority order
  • Oversee repairs to ensure timely completion and record trends
  • Provide effective training to ensure staff are competent in product knowledge and factory processes
  • Be approachable and positive, motivating staff
  • Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing team that meets objectives, delivers results, and seeks continuous improvement
  • Cross-skill the team to prevent holiday and absence impacts on quality and delivery
  • Set departmental objectives/KPIs aligned with overall business goals
