Overview

Our client: One of the UK's leading independent dairy ingredient suppliers. Supplies a wide range of dairy products to food manufacturers across the UK and Europe. Role

• As the Quality Control Supervisor, you will lead the quality control function with a specific focus on powder blending and operations.
• The Quality Control Supervisor will be responsible for leading the laboratory, looking after the day-to-day quality assurance functions.
• The Quality Control Supervisor will test the raw materials, ensuring compliance and alignment with specifications (e.g. Moisture, Bulk, Density, flavour etc).
• You will replicate powder blends accurately using laboratory tools and techniques, as well as supporting NPD with trials and documenting new recipes.
• The Quality Control Supervisor will work cross functionally with production and sales to ensure smooth scale up from lab to factory.
• The Quality Control Supervisor will react quickly to enforce any corrective actions where necessary and advise production teams accordingly.
• In the lab, the Quality Control Supervisor will keep all calibrations up to date and develop practical methods for powder testing.

Ideal candidate

• You must have at least 2/3 years' experience in a food lab / quality control role (powders, dairy, or dry blending is desirable but not essential).
• Analytically strong, with an understanding of blend uniformity and powder functionality.
• Takes an active approach to their work, is able to be 'hands on' to test, trial and drive EPD and NPD through lab to factory.
• Experience in formulating new products is desirable (NPD).
• You will be a strong communicator - able to explain technical results in context as well as working across multiple departments to ensure quality control throughout the process.
• Confident supervising a small team in the lab.
• You will be confident and tenacious, able to raise issues as they appear and solve them effectively.
