Job summary

Gi Group is seeking a Quality Control Associate in Basingstoke to ensure media products meet high quality standards before release to clinical, laboratory, and industrial applications.

The role involves hands-on QC testing, media preparation, and data recording in SAP QMS, with a strong emphasis on following SOPs, safety, and regulatory guidelines. Flexible with full-time hours and a Monday-to-Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Level 6 qualification in Microbiology or equivalent, QBE considered.
• Strong organisation and planning; detail-oriented and methodical.
• Ability to follow SOPs and interpret methods accurately.
• Hands-on microbiology QC testing experience and basic lab techniques.

Responsibilities

• Conduct QC testing to company specifications (Level 1-3 methods).
• Prepare media and support investigations into out-of-spec results.
• Keep training records and follow regulatory procedures.
• Plan and manage testing timelines for customer service teams.
• Record data using SAP Quality Management System.
• Maintain lab operations including cleaning, autoclave use and waste management.
• Follow Quality System processes and safety practices.
• Collaborate with QC, QA, Manufacturing Sciences, Production and Planning.
