Overview

The Quality Group is responsible for the Company’s Quality Management System. This position is responsible for the inspection and testing of products, material, and outside-processing operations purchased by Wilcox for the end user.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Manufacturing, Engineering and Purchasing Groups to provide support.
• Enforce the Quality Management Systems.
• Performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests of purchased products, material, and outside-processing vendor operations.
• Must be able to read blueprints and follow directions.
• Understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Have a working knowledge of measuring instruments such as: Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Micro-Hite, Optical Comparator, Hardness Tester, etc.
• Help maintain and calibrate measurement and test equipment.
• Apply statistical process control.
• Handle nonconforming products.
• Collection and retention of Quality Records.
• Communicate with internal parties on matters relating to the Quality System and ISO 9000 certification.
• Performs other duties as required by the position and manager.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience:

• Associate degree in business sciences or related field.
• 2-5 Years Experience in a fast-paced Quality Role

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear; use hands and fingers to handle and touch objects, tools, or controls to work in a production environment. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, vision, and the ability to adjust focus to work. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
