Division info:

The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture, repair, and overhaul of landing gears and flight-critical components for a customer base that includes OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and operators in both commercial and military markets.

Summary of position:

The Quality Control Manager will oversee and ensure the quality of MRO, Surface Treatment, and Assembly and Test in production within the Operations department. This role is critical in maintaining product quality standards, minimizing non-quality costs, and ensuring compliance with internal and external quality standards. Leading a team of quality professionals, the manager will coordinate with cross-functional departments to achieve continuous improvement in the production process.

Main responsibilities:

1. Oversee Quality Control of MRO, Surface Treatment, and Assembly and Test: Ensure adherence to quality standards throughout all production phases.
2. Team Management: Lead and manage a team of shop quality engineers and inspectors, ensuring they meet targets and objectives.
3. Non-Quality Cost Management: Track, analyze, and report on non-quality costs, including rejections and reworks. Implement strategies to reduce these costs.
4. Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA): Prepare and implement RCCA for identified issues, ensuring proper corrective measures are taken to avoid future non-conformities.
5. Escapes Analysis: Support in analyzing and preventing escapes by developing preventive measures.
6. Improvement Plans: Develop and execute continuous improvement plans to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
7. Interdepartmental Coordination: Facilitate coordination of quality-related deviations between departments to resolve issues and maintain workflow.
8. Internal Audits and Spot Checks: Conduct regular audits and checks to ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.
9. External Audit Support: Assist in preparing for and supporting external audits for compliance and certification.
10. Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs): Ensure proper follow-up on NCRs with timely action plan implementation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field (Master's preferred).
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience managing quality engineers and inspectors.
• Expertise in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action (RCCA).
• Knowledge of quality standards and methodologies (ISO, Lean Six Sigma).
• Desirable knowledge of EASA/CAA Part & Part .
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and quality management software.
