Our client specialises in the design, qualification, manufacture, and repair of landing gears and flight-critical components for both civil and military aerospace markets. This role is essential in ensuring quality across MRO, Surface Treatment, and Assembly and Test processes, leading a team of 10–15 quality professionals, and driving continuous improvement.

About the Role

The Senior Quality Control Manager will play a key role in maintaining product quality standards, minimising non-quality costs, and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance production processes while leading a dedicated team of quality engineers and inspectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee quality control for MRO, Surface Treatment, and Assembly and Test processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards throughout production.
  • Lead and manage a team of 10–15 quality engineers and inspectors, ensuring they achieve their targets and objectives.
  • Track, analyse, and report on non-quality costs (e.g., rejections and reworks), implementing strategies to reduce these costs.
  • Prepare and implement Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) plans to address issues and prevent future non-conformities.
  • Support analysis of escapes (missed non-conformities) by developing preventive measures.
  • Develop and execute continuous improvement plans to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
  • Facilitate interdepartmental coordination to resolve quality-related deviations and maintain workflow integrity.
  • Conduct regular internal audits and spot checks to ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.
  • Assist in preparing for and supporting external audits to achieve compliance and certification with industry standards.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), implementing action plans to address issues.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in quality control or assurance within a manufacturing environment, ideally in aerospace.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing a team of 10–15 quality engineers and inspectors.
  • Expertise in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action (RCCA).
  • Strong knowledge of quality standards and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, Lean Six Sigma).
  • Desirable knowledge of EASA/CAA Part 21 and Part 145 regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and quality management software.
What Our Client Offers

  • Competitive salary tied to performance, reviewed annually for fairness.
  • Standard 38.5-hour working week, with 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • A supportive environment with investment in growth through mentorship and training.
  • A culture that values diversity, fostering innovation and organisational success.
  • An empowering work environment where leadership encourages meaningful contributions.
  • Friend referral bonuses and loyalty programmes to reward engagement.
  • Social events such as BBQs and Christmas parties to foster a vibrant workplace culture.
