Quality Control Line Leader

Ledbury
£32,000 - £33,500 per annum
Full-Time / Permanent
6-day working week (48 hours per week)

About the Role

We're looking for a reliable and experienced Quality Control Line Leader to join our client's team in Ledbury. In this hands-on role, you'll oversee quality checks on the production line and lead a team to ensure all products meet customer standards. You'll also help maintain safety, hygiene, and smooth day-to-day operations.

Main Responsibilities

Quality Control:

  • Calibrate and record readings from all scales.
  • Ensure each line uses the correct and latest customer specifications.
  • Monitor fruit temperature, sugar levels, and overall quality.
  • Reject any fruit that doesn't meet standards (must be below 4°C).
  • Check that product weights and labels are accurate before packing.
  • Report and remove any foreign objects from products.
  • Keep the floor clean and safe at all times.

Team Supervision:

  • Support and lead the team, encouraging good communication and teamwork.
  • Ensure hygiene protocols are followed and PPE is worn.
  • Attend and contribute to daily morning meetings.
  • Make sure timesheets are completed accurately and on time.

Operations:

  • Maintain a safe, tidy, and organised work environment.
  • Follow all company procedures, including metal detection and safety checks.
  • Report any machinery issues or changes immediately.
  • Record downtime and help keep production on schedule.
  • Enforce quality standards consistently across the team.
  • Report any accidents, near misses, or changes to working conditions

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in a quality control or supervisory role in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of fruit grading, packing, and labelling.
  • Skilled in calibrating equipment and keeping accurate records.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good understanding of hygiene and health & safety regulations.
  • Able to stay calm and adaptable under pressure.
