Job summary

Chesterfield Borough Council is seeking a skilled professional to join the Housing Capital Investment Programme team. The role focuses on quality control inspections of construction and improvement works, ensuring projects meet quality, compliance and customer satisfaction standards.

You will also monitor health and safety across complex construction activities, providing expert technical advice and support throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years' experience in the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of current housing issues, relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry best practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage contractors, colleagues, residents and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and make sound technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Undertake quality control inspections of construction/improvement works to ensure high standards of quality and compliance.
• Monitor and enforce health and safety across a range of construction activities.
• Provide expert technical advice and support throughout housing improvement project lifecycles.
