Job description

We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Quality Control Inspector! This role is based in our facility in Preston, Idaho and reports to the Shift Supervisor.

The hours are Mo - Thu from 3.30pm until 2am. The starting rate is $21.84 per hour + $1.25 shift differential.

Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic individual with a keen eye to detail and a positive demeanor for this role. The successful candidate will focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Principal Responsibilities

Properly operate measurement and testing equipment to ensure the quality of products and raw materials.

2. Conduct measurements, tests, and visual inspections of all manufactured products in accordance with internal and external quality standards outlined in QC forms, inspection/test sheets, and technical drawings.

3. Accurately record and maintain all relevant inspection data on QC forms based on daily inspections and testing activities.

4. Immediately report any deviations from quality standards to the appropriate supervisor and document findings accordingly.

5. Perform final inspections once products meet internal and external quality standards, signing off or stamping production tags and work orders as required. Where applicable, identify products using an appropriate labeling system.

6. Conduct secondary quality checks on in-stock products as needed. Re-inspect and document customer-returned products to assess compliance with company standards.

7. Communicate relevant quality control information to the next shift’s inspector during shift transitions. Provide assistance and information to production personnel, supervisors, and management as required.

8. Verify manual/automated product label information and print the weekly allotment of labels.

  • Completion of a high school diploma or practical equivalency
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Must be a self-starter with good interpersonal and verbal communication skills coupled with an eagerness to learn
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety practices
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good team player including with a demonstrated ability to contribute to and foster a positive team environment
  • Should possess leadership skills and be able to serve as a role-model to others

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing plant environment
  • Requires good mobility and involves varying degrees of considerable physical labor including routine walking, standing for long periods (10+ hours), bending, and lifting up to a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • The use of hand tools including heat forming, pulling, belling, caps, reducer, saws, gluing
  • Fast-paced environment where a considerable amount of sensory attention is required
  • Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, dust, noise levels and the use of equipment such as sharp blades and presses.
