Verelogic in the North East is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our growing engineering team in Tyne & Wear. This hands-on role focuses on ensuring products meet customer specs, internal standards, and industry compliance.

You will work with shopfloor teams, management, suppliers and client reps to uphold quality throughout the production lifecycle and drive continuous improvement initiatives in a busy fabrication environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Experience managing NCRs, inspections and quality documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and record inspections on incoming materials, in-process work and final products.
  • Coordinate inspections with customers and third-party inspectors.
  • Review and issue work instructions to meet contract and internal standards.
  • Lead and support Root Cause Analysis investigations into quality issues
  • Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain the Quality Management System (ISO 9001 environment)
  • Manage the calibration system, including internal and external calibration coordination
  • Promote safe working practices and liaise with suppliers and customer representatives on quality matters

Our client are an engineering manufacturer in the North East is looking to appoint an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join their growing team.

This is a hands-on role within a busy fabrication and manufacturing environment, ensuring products meet customer specifications, internal quality standards, and industry compliance requirements.

You will play a key part in maintaining quality standards across the production lifecycle, working closely with shopfloor teams, management, suppliers and client representatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct and record inspections on incoming materials, in-process work and final products
  • Perform internal QMS and product-specific audits
  • Coordinate inspections with customers and third-party inspectors
  • Review and issue work instructions to meet contract and internal standards
  • Raise and manage NCRs, concessions and material certification documentation
  • Lead and support Root Cause Analysis investigations into quality issues and warranty claims
  • Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain and monitor the Quality Management System (ISO 9001 environment)
  • Manage the calibration system, including internal and external calibration coordination
  • Compile quality data dossiers and support KPI reporting
  • Liaise directly with suppliers and customer representatives on quality matters
  • Promote safe working practices and challenge unsafe behaviours
Essential:
  • Experience within a fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Experience managing NCRs, inspections, and quality documentation
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and industry standards such as ASME
  • Confident communicator able to liaise with customers and suppliers
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
Desirable:
  • CSWIP 3.1 (CSWIP 3.0 considered)
  • PCN Level II (MPI & DPI) or equivalent NDT certification
  • Engineering apprenticeship or similar qualification
