SA Manufacturing is looking to recruit an experienced Quality Inspector to join our expanding Quality Department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspection of precision machined components and fabricated assemblies, ensuring all products meet customer specifications and AS9100 requirements.
Working closely with the Quality Engineering Lead and Production teams, you will help maintain product quality, support continuous improvement and contribute towards the ongoing development of SA Manufacturing's AS9100 Quality Management System.
Key Responsibilities
First Off Inspection
- Conduct First Off Inspection of CNC precision machined components.
- Verify all dimensions against engineering drawings.
- Confirm machining processes are producing conforming parts before production continues.
- Communicate any issues promptly to Production and Engineering.
Final Inspection
- Carry out Final Inspection prior to despatch.
- Inspect precision machined components and fabricated assemblies.
- Ensure all inspection documentation is complete and accurate.
- Verify all customer‑specific requirements have been met.
- Ensure products are correctly identified, protected and released for dispatch.
In-Process Inspection
- Perform patrol inspections throughout production.
- Support machining departments by identifying potential quality concerns early.
- Assist with process verification where required.
- Ensure non‑conforming products are identified and controlled.
Inspection Equipment
Operate and maintain inspection equipment including:
- Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
- FARO Arm (training provided if required)
- Surface Finish Tester
- Micrometers
- Bore Gauges
Experience creating or running CMM programmes would be advantageous but is not essential.
Quality Responsibilities
- Complete inspection reports accurately.
- Produce First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) where required.
- Assist with PPAP documentation.
- Support Root Cause investigations.
- Assist with 8D corrective action activities.
- Support internal and customer audits.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 procedures.
- Maintain accurate quality records.
Support the ongoing improvement of the Quality Department by:
- Identifying opportunities to improve inspection methods.
- Reducing defects and rework.
- Supporting Right First Time initiatives.
- Supporting 5S activities across inspection and manufacturing areas.
- Promoting high standards of workmanship throughout the business.
- Previous Quality Inspection experience within precision engineering.
- Experience inspecting CNC machined components.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of geometric tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience using conventional inspection equipment.
- Experience operating CMM equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workload.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of AS9100.
- FARO Arm experience.
- FAIR (AS9102) experience.
- PPAP knowledge.
- 8D problem‑solving awareness.
