Job summary

Boccard UK is seeking a QC Engineer to uphold quality standards at their fully digital manufacturing plant in Deeside, Wales. The role involves implementing quality plans, conducting audits, and managing non-conformance reports. Candidates must have significant experience in pipe spooling contracts, possess advanced welding knowledge, and have previous nuclear experience. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience in NCR management including root cause analysis.
  • Computer literate and willing to train on internal digital platforms.
  • CSWIP 3.1 preferred, PCN Level 2 minimum required.

We’re hiring a QC Engineer to help uphold the highest standards of quality and compliance at our new, fully digital manufacturing plant in Deeside.

With over 50 years of experience in nuclear energy, Boccard is a trusted leader in engineering, manufacturing, construction, and maintenance across the energy industry. As we enter a new era of nuclear innovation, we’re expanding our team to meet increasing demand.

In this role, you’ll support the manufacture of carbon and stainless‑steel pipe spools and support structures, carry out inspections in line with the Project Quality Plan, and work closely with QC Inspectors to ensure right‑first‑time delivery. You’ll also play a key role in promoting a culture of operational excellence and client satisfaction.

What You’ll Do:
  • Implement and maintain the Project Quality Plan and Inspection Test Plans.
  • Review documentation, LTQRs, weld procedures, and calibration records for compliance.
  • Conduct audits, manage non‑conformance reports, and support supplier approvals.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Deliver quality awareness training and contribute to process improvements.
  • NCR (Non‑Conformance Report) management, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
What You’ll Bring:
  • Advanced knowledge of modern welding procedures
  • Excellent communication skills with a good eye for detail
  • Significant experience in working on pipe spooling contracts
  • Knowledge of RCCM manufacturing specifications
  • Computer literate and willing to train on internal digital platforms
  • Previous Nuclear experience required
  • Experience operating in a fast and high volume production environment
  • CSWIP 3.1 - Preferred
