Job summary

Recruitment Direct is seeking a Quality Control Assistant for a growing electromechanical manufacturing client in Ross-on-Wye. This permanent, hands‑on role supports quality control, quality assurance and continuous improvement across production.

You will work with the Quality Control Manager to inspect and report on products, train Assemblers, and help maintain ISO 9001/14001/45001/27001 systems while supporting process improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in electromechanical manufacturing.
• Current quality control experience in a factory/manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610 soldering standards.
• Understanding of IPC/WHMA-A-620.
• Knowledge of PCB manufacturing and rework.
• BPSS clearance may be required.
• Nationality within NATO.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customer requirements are met in line with the 'Zero Defects, Remember Why' ethos.
• Inspect and report on products throughout daily production under the Quality Control Manager.
• Provide feedback, support and training to Assemblers as required.
• Support the Quality Control Manager in maintaining ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 27001.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of manufacturing processes through internal quality systems.

Quality Control Assistant

We are working with a growing manufacturing client seeking a Quality Control Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis in Ross on Wye. This is a hands-on quality role within an electromechanical manufacturing environment, supporting quality control, quality assurance and continuous improvement across production.

What You Can Expect

• Salary up to £33,280 per annum / £16 per hour, depending on experience
• Monday to Friday, 8.30am-5.00pm
• Full time, Permanent position

What You Will Be Doing

• Supporting the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes through internal quality systems

  What We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience within electromechanical manufacturing
  • Current experience working in Quality Control within a factory/manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 soldering standards
  • Understanding of IPC/WHMA-A-620
  • Knowledge of PCB manufacturing and rework
  • Must be able to successfully pass BPSS clearance
  • Nationality must be within NATO
