Your new role

Responsibilities

As a QC Analyst II - Analytical, you will play a crucial role in supporting QC activities within a GMP-regulated environment. Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Performing QC assays and laboratory-based tests, including tissue culture, flow cytometry, and endotoxin testing.
2. Training QC Technicians and QC Analyst I in analytical techniques.
3. Validating new QC assays and facilitating technical transfer of client assays.
4. Assessing new equipment and analytical methods.
5. Preparing QC study/experiment protocols and compiling reports.
6. Conducting QC checks on Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) for externally contracted work.
7. Writing incident reports, change controls, CAPAs, and deviations within the Quality Management System (QMS).
8. Writing and updating SOPs for QC activities and maintaining accurate QC records.
9. Participating in process improvement initiatives.
10. Supporting client communications and liaising with external suppliers.
11. Ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
12. Providing out-of-hours cover for critical equipment alarms on a rotational basis.

About You

1. Strong experience of working within a scientific laboratory.
2. Hands-on experience in a GMP scientific laboratory with applied knowledge of analytical techniques.
3. Experience in flow cytometry, tissue culture, or molecular biology with a commercial life sciences laboratory.
4. Knowledge and working experience of GMP is essential for this role.
5. An excellent standard of written English and the ability to write accurately and clearly.
6. A strong working knowledge of UK laws and regulations for cell therapy products and tissue donation.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience and examples of building strong working relationships.
8. Competent in Microsoft Office packages.
9. Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
10. Proven ability to manage and influence stakeholder and customer expectations.
11. High attention to detail with a drive for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

1. A BSc in a Life Science subject or equivalent laboratory experience.
