Job description

Established in 1997 as the first manufacturer of sushi for the UK supermarket industry, Taiko has evolved into the most innovative manufacturer of Sushi, Food To Go, Prepared Meals, and Snacking products in the UK, supplying Waitrose, Tesco, and Sainsbury's, to name a few. Over the past 25 years, Taiko has launched more first-to-market Sushi and Food to Go products than any other sushi manufacturer in the UK.

As the Warehouse Quality Control Administrator, you will play a key role in overseeing quality control practices within our warehouse operations. This position involves ensuring that incoming and outgoing products meet quality standards, monitoring storage conditions, conducting inspections, and maintaining compliance with food safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail, organisational skills, and experience in food safety and warehouse operations.

  • Good understanding of the operation, products, and procedures.
  • High level of reliability, flexibility, and punctuality.
  • Advanced IT literacy with experience of MS Office and Excel.
  • Driven and dynamic individual with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.

Due to expansion, we are looking for QC Administrators working 7 days a week on a rolling rota from 5pm to 1am (additional shift allowance is paid).

  • Inspection of Goods-in for quality and quantity, determining usability for production or rejection based on food safety standards.
  • Inspect incoming raw materials (including packaging) ensuring they are within specifications and report any out-of-specification items.
  • Monitor storage conditions of raw materials and ensure they stay within specifications during transfers.
  • Check compliance with food safety and QA procedures, including allergen control measures.
  • Ensure proper storage of raw materials and adherence to FIFO.
  • Maintain and document warehouse records accurately and timely, and coordinate with the Technical department for reviews.
  • Verify daily deliveries, sign delivery notes, and record actual volumes, quality, and dates.
  • Provide batch numbers and best-before dates to Warehouse Systems Controller for stock booking and labeling.
  • Apply labels to received goods and process transfers to production accurately in Navision, reporting shortages as needed.
  • Work closely with and provide cover to the Warehouse Systems Controller when necessary.
  • Assist warehouse staff with their duties when QC tasks are not busy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse areas and yard.
