Quality Control Technician
  • Annual Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 Per Annum
  • Location: Bristol

Reed Food & FMCG are currently recruiting for a Quality Control Technician to join a Food Manufacturing business in Bristol. This role is a position that encompasses traditional quality control responsibilities along with additional duties that ensure food safety, authenticity, quality, and legality. Making it a role in which you can really level up your experience within the Food industry.

The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of duty towards maintaining high standards in all aspects of our operations.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Conduct label verification, metal detection checks, and quality checks on the boning line and further processing areas daily.
  • Perform pre-operational cleaning and ATP swabs on various equipment daily.
  • Manage daily recordings from all trailers on site and conduct product, water, and environmental sampling weekly.
  • Inspect cutting boards, manage toolbox inventory, and check canteen fridge temperatures weekly.
  • Validate digital thermometers, audit knife registers, and update knife scribe numbers weekly.
  • Order PPE and janitorial supplies bi-weekly and perform first aid as required.
  • Conduct glass and plastic audits at varying frequencies and carry out random locker checks.
  • Internal audits, CCP training, and allergen awareness are also integral parts of the role.




Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a quality control position within the food industry.
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality assurance protocols.
  • Ability to perform detailed and accurate checks consistently.
  • Flexibility to cover different shifts as required, including early starts and potential overtime.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
