Job summary

Budweiser Brewing Group (AB InBev) in the UK invites an Executive Brewery Quality Compliance Manager to lead the QA department, ensuring compliance with food/ feed safety, quality, and customer expectations at optimal cost.

You will drive GMP, HACCP, and external audits, lead a high‑impact team, manage budgets, and partner with operations to improve processes and product integrity.

This role requires strong leadership, IR experience, and a track record in manufacturing quality management.

Reporting to the Brewery Manager and being part of the site management team, you will be responsible for managing the quality assurance department to meet internal and external customer and consumer requirements for service, quality and food / Feed safety at optimum cost.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Key Tasks
  • Acts as the leader with regards to quality and food/ feed Safety standards
  • Complies to EHS, Food/Feed Integrity and GMP (including HACCP) VPO standards
  • Manages the development of the department resources through training, formal feedback and individual performance appraisals
  • Manages relationships with the unions where appropriate
  • Supports Continuous Improvement and Root Cause Analysis processes
  • Attends meetings as required by the terms of reference
  • Ensures reporting of pertinent KPI
  • Manages department ZBB budget
  • Investigates complaints and provides proper follow-up (including root cause analysis)
  • Assesses all legal contentious complaints
  • Ensures compliance to ABI Quality and Food/Feed Safety Programs and tracks action plans in respective departments
  • Ensures compliance with ABI and external audit programs i.e. GMP, BRC (Incl. HACCP, housekeeping, Food Integrity)
  • Co-ordinates phys-chem and micro analysis as per VPO requirements
  • Ensures that all documentation from Zone brewery support is updated continuously
  • Assists in new material trials from quality standpoint
  • Co-ordinates and participates in sensory analysis of product
  • Assist zone brewery support in complaint management of raw, auxiliary and packaging materials
  • Assists in audits done by zone brewery support
  • Executes tasks as dictated by the role’s checklist to be validated by manager
  • Leads daily, weekly and monthly meetings.
Development of a strong cohesive team
  • Manages the development of the department resources through training, informal feedback and individual performance appraisals
  • Ensures team cohesion.
  • Ensures the management of an effective performance management process
  • Develops appropriate people review processes within the department
  • Walks the floor – lead by example, positively challenge under-performance, reinforce good behaviors
  • Celebrates successes – work collaboratively to develop appropriate recognition policies for the site
  • Actively seeks feedback and monitor progress against plans
  • Ensures staff are motivated to achieve high standards of performance within department
Management of IR and Communication
  • Manages relationship with unions where appropriate
  • Facilitates trade union meetings as required
  • Establishes a consistent process for managing grievances and disciplinary handling
  • Publishes agreed department metrics through all appropriate communication channels
  • Actively contributes to site wide communication processes
  • Ensures the effective management and delivery of all department and team briefings
Control of cost and budget
  • Prepares and manages the Quality Budget and is accountable for cost optimization
  • Assists with Capital projects when required
  • Ensures cost optimization across all areas of the department
  • Contribute to implementing strategic concepts to reduce costs and increase service levels
  • Partner with other business functions in negotiations concerning contracts and projects related to the Quality function
  • Share accountability for maintenance cost performance
Quality, Food / Feed safety, Environment, Health and Safety and compliance to standards
  • Complies to ES, quality and HACCP standards
  • Manages housekeeping / 5S within his area
  • Develops and promote safe working practices
  • Ensures compliance with all company and legal obligations
  • Ensures continuous improvement to consumption of energy and utilities within department
  • Manages appropriate SLA’s to ensure quality standards and specifications are maintained
  • Ensure all activities are in adherence to SLA and local governance
