Quality Co-ordinator

Job Purpose

To effectively aid in all Quality and Technical aspects of the business. To work with the Technical Services manager and liaise with hygiene and production management to ensure the company is compliant with food safety.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • To oversee the Auditing and filing of documentation ensuring it is kept up to date at all times. To liaise with the Production personnel to ensure the quality checks they undertake are completed accurately and to time. To ensure the daily quality meetings take place, ensuring any issues raised are communicated and acted upon to help prevent re-occurrence. To also carry out ad-hoc monitoring of products as required, ensuring the results/trends etc. are collated and communicated out electronically. To aid in covering QA holidays/sickness by controlling shift rotas, organising overtime shifts of other QA and assisting in covering key tasks of the day. Carrying out various internal audits where required to ensure compliance.
  • To take direct responsibility of the QA team in the day to day organisation of shifts, holidays etc. to ensure all are covered.
  • To lead, train and develop the QA team with a view to become more proactive.
  • To carry out one to one development meetings with each QA to agree long term goals.
  • Work alongside the Technical Services manager to develop and improve instruction/training cards.
  • To carry out internal training of quality, Food Safety and Legal compliance systems within the factory to ensure that all activities comply with legal, company and customer requirements, introducing a continuous improvement programme where appropriate.
The Person
  • 1 year supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum Level 2 Food safety & HACCP Foundation (Level 2).
  • Ability to drive Quality improvement.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to use databases.
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach to work and manage time critical assignments that involve varying complexity and working well under pressure.
