Job summary

Orion Electrotech is seeking a Quality Certifications Engineer to review and approve supplier certifications for critical naval marine components. You will promote quality across the company and work as an ambassador for Truflo Marine, ensuring integrity and compliance with procedures.

Role requires coordinating with suppliers, analysing materials with XRF equipment, and leading projects to improve workflow and 100% RFT quality. ISO standards and lean methods apply.

Qualifications

• Quality role with exposure to operations, engineering, distribution and supply chain.
• Graduate or equivalent with engineering/manufacturing background.
• Quality/Metallurgical qualifications.
• Experience in a results-driven environment with cross-functional work.
• Nuclear/Defence industry knowledge is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review supplier certifications and verify against customer specifications.
• Communicate with suppliers to correct certificates where required.
• Analyse and verify material using XRF positive material identification equipment.
• Lead projects to improve the workflow of certification and reduce lead times.
• Maintain the certification database and ensure KPI targets are achieved.
• Support ISO 45001, 9001 and 14001 procedures and related audits.

Job Title: Quality Certifications EngineerRole Overview

The Quality Compliance Certifications Engineer will be responsible for reviewing and approving supplier certification, which is used to manufacture critical components for supply primarily into the naval marine sector but also other marketplaces including civil nuclear.

Working within the Quality function the Quality Compliance Certifications Engineer will promote excellence and quality throughout the Company, always applying sound Engineering judgement and practices.

The Quality Compliance Certifications Engineer will be an ambassador and role model for Truflo Marine and will act with integrity and in accordance with company policies at all times.

Key Responsibilities

The Quality Compliance Certifications Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the certification received from suppliers is correct and to the quality standards our customers require.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Reviewing of certification supplied by supply chain and verifying against the customers specifications in order to ensure full compliance with the customers' requirements.
• Liaising with suppliers to communicate effectively any required corrections to certificates where required. Position Quality Compliance Certifications Engineer Reports to Senior Quality Compliance Officer Location (Preferred) Aston, UK
• Analysing and verifying material using XRF positive material identification equipment.
• Providing advice and assistance to colleagues and suppliers regarding material and testing standards and requirements.
• Train suppliers in certification requirements and provide on-site support and certification approval as required.
• Lead projects to improve the workflow of certification and efficiency of processing to reduce checking lead times and ensure 100% RFT quality of product provided and associated certification.
• Maintain the certification database and ensure KPI targets are achieved.
• Dealing with all material enquiries both internally and externally
• Ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to, deviations from process should be highlighted and the SOP reviewed and updated to ensure the process is correct and up to date.
• Carrying out any other duties appropriate to this post, as necessary or as requested.
• Raising concessions relating to material
• Raising and actioning DR's.
• QASOR review support
• QASOR generation support
• Support Contract review process including Quote2Order
• Support the goods inwards process.
• Support works order reviews where required.
• Arrange and monitor 3rd party test house requests.

Skills & Experience

• Proven track record of success in Quality with a strong understanding and exposure to operations, engineering, distribution and supply chain.
• Graduate or equivalent qualification with a strong engineering/manufacturing background.
• Relevant Quality/Metallurgical professional qualifications.
• Experience of working within a results driven environment with skills in managing both core process and bringing a creative and innovative approach.
• Experience of operating within a global manufacturing/ technology business and a balance of working both strategically and operationally.
• Broad based technical and business knowledge of the Nuclear/Defence industry is desirable.
• Experience in a metrics focused environment including weekly and monthly quarterly reporting and analysis.
• Knowledge of Defence standards and accreditations is desirable.
• Experience of working with and implementing Lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
• Strong computer literate skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
• Can-Do, Will-Do attitude, with the ability to problem solve and determination to continually improve the business with a creative approach for new idea generation.
• Ability to prioritise a diverse workload.
