To develop and monitor the quality systems in the achievement of continuous improvement in quality of performance and cost. Providing expertise and support to bakery operations, championing local project improvement initiatives. Communicating and implementing the requirements of our company Group Technical Standards through the application and development of Best Practice. Ensuring that all products are safe, legal, and compliant with customer specifications.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

The role will manage internal auditing systems (e.g., Glass & Plastic audit, GMP audit, HACCP audit) and ensure all audits are completed as scheduled, with timely closeouts.

Conduct daily taste panels for production samples with a cross-functional team, carried out by the Quality Systems Auditor. All actions from these panels shall be communicated across the bakery.

- Ensure that quality management systems, operating practices, and process controls are developed, implemented, and followed by staff to ensure consistent quality performance and Good Manufacturing Practice.

- Advise site teams on company standards related to GMP, food safety, quality, and hygiene.

- Promote and develop technical service competency, continuously challenging and improving technical operational effectiveness.

- Develop initiatives to enhance manufacturing operations through reduced costs and improved quality, especially in process monitoring & control.

- Escalate non-conformances identified during internal and external audits.

- Monitor systems to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards concerning food safety, hygiene, and quality.

Reporting to the QA Manager, working as part of a team of 5 Systems Auditors, focusing on developing and monitoring quality systems at the Shadsworth and Blackburn Bakery locations.

Additional Accountabilities:

- Maintain current knowledge of professional technical standards and updates in customer codes of practices.

- Collaborate with operational colleagues to ensure effective staff training in food safety, legality, and quality.

- Adhere to policies and procedures at all times.

- Embody and promote BBF Values.

- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the QA Manager.

Performance Measures

KPI's include:

- Consumer Complaints

- Audit Performance (including BRC, GTS's, Pest Control, Retailer Inspections)

- Product assessment scoring

- Completion of daily tasks as outlined by the QA Manager

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

- Minimum 1 year of technical/hygiene experience with a proven track record, preferably in food manufacturing.

- Highly motivated, determined, and enthusiastic individual.
