Salary: circa £50,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, Days, 39 hrs per week

At the Moreton Bakery, proudly known as the “Home of the Cadbury Mini Roll,” we produce over 4 million annually!

The main purpose of the role is to support and assist the Site Technical Manager in ensuring technical compliance across the bakery. This involves ensuring all products meet company and external standards regarding food hygiene, safety, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of QA staff in daily QA activities to ensure products meet required specifications.
  • Oversee the site HACCP systems to comply with current food safety legislation.
  • Manage site systems to meet BRC requirements to Grade A standard.
  • Deputise for the Technical Manager as needed to maintain technical functions and representation.
  • Ensure staff are trained to meet job-specific and health & safety requirements.
  • Continuously improve all site QA and Technical systems to meet audit standards.
  • Represent the site in quality-related issues with key customers, e.g., quality reviews.

Experience and Competencies

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the FMCG food industry, including at least 3 years in a quality management role.
  • HND or equivalent in food technology or a related discipline.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Practical knowledge of quality and auditing systems.
  • Ideally hold advanced Food Hygiene and HACCP qualifications and internal auditor certification (development program available if not already achieved).
  • Proficient in HACCP systems and their application.
  • Ability to work independently and possess sound people management skills.
