Job summary

Caterpillar Defense in the United Kingdom is seeking a Quality Audit Facilitator to coordinate internal and external audits, maintain audit programmes, and ensure compliance across quality management systems. The role partners with Quality, Process & Lean, Supplier Quality, EHS, and Operations to embed governance in daily work.

The ideal candidate will drive continuous improvement, manage audit findings, and report outcomes to stakeholders, ensuring audit readiness across manufacturing

Qualifications

  • Experience within a quality, manufacturing, engineering, or compliance environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong planning.
  • Ability to analyse data and identify compliance gaps.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications.

Salary: £18.05 per hour

About Caterpillar Defense

Caterpillar Defense at Shrewsbury is responsible for the design, development and integration of engine and drivetrain packages to meet the needs of tracked and wheeled military products globally. The facility also provides remanufacturing services for industrial military engines, components and transmissions.

We are looking for a Quality Audit Facilitator to join our Quality pillar and play a key role in ensuring our business remains audit-ready at all times.

This role is responsible for coordinating internal and external audit activities, supporting compliance with quality management systems, and ensuring quality documentation and records remain aligned with business and customer requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with Quality, Process & Lean, Supplier Quality, EHS, and Operations teams to embed compliance into everyday working practices.

The role is ideal for someone who enjoys organisation, problem-solving, attention to detail, and driving continuous improvement across a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and maintain the site audit programme.

What We're Looking For
Essential
  • Experience within a quality, manufacturing, engineering, or compliance environment.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyse data and identify compliance gaps.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
  • Internal Auditor qualification.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar quality standards.
  • Experience of conducting or supporting audits.
  • Understanding of root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
