Are you experienced in food technical standards? If yes, we would like you to join and help grow our team at Yeo Valley.
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Technologist to join the Technical team at our Cannington site. This role will involve working 4 days on, 4 days off, on a 12-hour shift basis.
As a Quality Assurance Technologist, you will be responsible for supporting a continuous improvement-based food safety and quality culture across the site, in line with the business technical strategy and policies.
You will ensure that, through effective procedures, monitoring, and coaching, all products produced onsite are safe and comply with agreed specifications and standards. This includes ensuring that all systems and procedures conform to internal and external standards and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Championing a quality culture across the site.
- Creating and implementing processes, clearly written procedures, and controls to manage company standards.
- Defining and owning success criteria and expectations for product development trials.
- Understanding process capability, troubleshooting deviations, and setting up process monitoring to determine process stability.
- Leading projects and continuous improvement opportunities with support from relevant stakeholders, ensuring cross-functional communication.
- Supporting the business in meeting customer and industry standards.
- Providing expertise on industry and customer standards and requirements.
- Deputising for the QA Manager and leading resolution of site issues in the absence of senior managers (e.g., weekends).
What do I need?
- A science-based degree or demonstrable experience in a similar role.
- HACCP Level 3 certification.
- Good understanding of food processing parameters and controls.
- Internal audit qualification.
