PURPOSE STATEMENT
- Ensure manufactured products are safe, legal, and meet customer quality standards.
- Maintain and calibrate food safety monitoring equipment to comply with legal and customer standards.
Key Accountabilities/Outcomes
- Ensure compliance with British Retail Consortium (BRC) and customer-specific standards.
- Collaborate with the Production Team to establish and maintain procedures and standards.
- Complete regular quality reports.
- Conduct internal audits, including product adherence to specifications, swabs, micros, water tests, GMP audits, lockers, glass, and plastic audits.
- Promote good manufacturing practices.
- Ensure calibration of monitoring equipment according to schedule and retain calibration records.
- Assess finished products against quality attributes to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Perform QA line checks on finished products to verify labeling, date coding, legal requirements, and shelf life.
- Report and document any products or processes out of specification, managing non-conformances according to company procedures.
- Identify root causes of non-conformities or complaints and implement corrective actions.
- Support troubleshooting and problem-solving within the factory.
- Complete and retain all related paperwork following company standards.
- Assist in implementing the company's QMS processes and procedures.
- Help maintain hygienic practices and procedures in production.
- Compile product manuals and labeling information for product launches.
- Assist in quality testing of raw materials, end products, and packaging materials.
- Conduct cleaning verification and validation to support EMP.
- Support 2nd party audits of suppliers.
- Assist in training new QA team members and production operatives.
- Cover absences within the technical department to meet business needs.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- Level 3 in food hygiene
- Level 2/3 in HACCP
- EMP knowledge
- QMS knowledge
- BRC food manufacturing awareness
- Complaint handling skills
- Bakery process knowledge
- Internal audit training
- Basic food law and regulations knowledge
- Food manufacturing experience
- Desirable: 2+ years in food manufacturing, Degree level education, QMS experience, Internal auditing experience
