Overview

Quality Assurance Technician – Newcastle upon Tyne.

iO Associates is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician who is responsible for maintaining food safety and quality across the site by supporting compliance, monitoring production, and performing product checks. Duties include managing sampling schedules, audits, CCP validation, equipment calibration, and overseeing non-conforming products, while ensuring accurate documentation and assisting with customer complaint investigations.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain food safety and quality standards across the site
  • Conduct internal audits with a strong focus on BRC, GMP, and Glass & Plastic inspections to ensure compliance with site and industry standards.
  • Support managers and operators in meeting Food Safety & Quality responsibilities
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with specifications and procedures
  • Perform quality, QAS, and organoleptic checks on products
  • Manage microbiological, chemical, and allergen sampling schedules
  • Oversee non-conforming products, QA holds, and product release, and carry out raw material intake checks against specifications
  • Complete CCP validation checks and maintain compliance
