Job description

A leading food & drink manufacturer is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join their wider QA & Technical Team. You will be responsible for supporting a high level of technical integrity, ensuring finished goods adhere to company and legislative requirements and third-party accreditations.


The successful Quality Assurance Technician will have previous experience in a food manufacturing environment and experience of Quality Management Systems. You will hold relevant food safety and HACCP qualifications and have experience of BRC standards.


Responsibilities include:
  1. Inspect and sign off Goods Inwards documentation, sample and test raw materials, packaging and finished product.
  2. Ensure raw materials, packaging and finished product undergo appropriate checks before positive release.
  3. Commission samples for external testing, completion of submission forms and input of results into SAP.
  4. Day to day monitoring of product safety, legality, integrity and quality with completion of regular documented checks.
  5. Instigate appropriate action on any non-compliance which affects product safety, legality, integrity or quality and record details and actions as required.
  6. Identify and file reports on non-conforming product ensuring correct handling, labelling, storage, segregation and disposal according to company procedure.
  7. Work to establish formal procedures and actions that will encourage avoidance of the reoccurrence of identified non-conformances.
  8. Report to the QMS team any identified deviation or omission from company working practices and procedures including Site Security & Food Fraud.
  9. Monitor, record, report and maintain appropriate hygiene standards (GMPs) in all food production areas and around the whole site according to the agreed standards and procedures.
  10. Support the QA team during the preparation and duration of audits.
