Job description
Overview

QA – Nights

Fixed 5 nights a week 10pm–6am

Most people don’t dream of spending their nights in a factory making sure labels are right and paperwork stacks up. Which is exactly why this job isn’t for most people.

But if you’re the type who notices when the ketchup bottle says best before and not use by — or if your idea of fun is spotting a misprinted barcode before anyone else does — you might just be the kind of person for this role.

This isn’t a “sit back and observe” sort of role. You’ll be walking the floor, auditing everything from hygiene standards to paperwork trails, making sure nothing slips through the net. You’ll be the one ensuring food safety, quality, and legality are actually happening — not just living in a policy manual.

The nuts and bolts
  • Fixed 5 nights a week working 10pm–6am.
  • Based in Grimsby.
  • You’ll report into a QA Supervisor but will need enough backbone to say “no” to people more senior when standards aren’t being met.
You’ll be good at this if you
  • Can keep your cool when the clock’s ticking and production’s under pressure.
  • Have an eye for detail that borders on obsessive.
  • Know your way around HACCP, BRC standards, and quality management systems (or at least have solid FMCG QA experience).
  • Don’t mind calling out when something’s off — whether it’s a hygiene slip or dodgy paperwork.
Perks worth knowing about

28 days holiday. Pension scheme. Life insurance. Cycle-to-work. Unlimited hot drinks (which you’ll probably need at 3am). Free parking. A referral bonus if you bring in other like-minded detail hunters.

It’s not glamorous. It’s not easy. But it matters. And if you’re wired the right way, it’ll probably be the most satisfying night job you’ll ever do.
