Job summary

Matchtech seeks a Contract Quality Inspector to support a Devonport Dockyard project in Plymouth. The role covers QC inspections aligned with ITPs, NDA/ITP compliance, and witnessing FAT/SAT on site, with travel to supplier sites as needed.

Night shifts are 7:00pm–5:30am, with a first month of day shifts, then nights, operating on a 4 days on / 4 days off pattern. Inside IR35, expenses reimbursements apply and UKAS/traceable calibration is required where applicable.

Qualifications

• Quality/inspection experience on construction projects.
• Ability to obtain SC Clearance.
• Experience with civil drawings/specifications and ITPs.
• Nuclear or MOD experience is advantageous.
• Familiar with ISO 9001 and QA procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Deliver QC inspection in line with specifications and ITP requirements.
• Attend Kick-Off meetings / PIPMs (where applicable).
• Support supply chain pre-assessments/capability reviews (when requested).
• Verify dimensional reports and critical parameters per drawings/quality plan/ITP.
• Monitor adherence to approved procedures, technique sheets, QPs and ITPs.
• Ensure only SQEP personnel carry out tasks/inspection/testing.
• Witness inspection/testing activities, FAT/SAT (factory & site acceptance tests).
• Confirm inspection/test equipment calibration meets contract requirements (UKAS/traceable where required).
• Report findings, confirm corrective actions and verification.
• Produce inspection reports (daily/weekly) and report progress to QE/QM.
• Support lifetime quality records (LTQRs) and close-out activities (where applicable).
• Quality and/or inspection experience on construction projects.
• Ability to obtain SC Clearance.
• Able to interpret civil standards, specifications and drawings.
• Nuclear or MOD experience.
• Microsoft Office capable/literate.
• Similar project size/complexity experience.
• ISO 9001 Auditor / HNC/HND Civil Engineering / CSCS (beneficial)

I’m recruiting for a Contract Quality Inspector / QC Inspector to support a project based at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth.

• Hotel up to £150/night
• Evening meal up to £40
• Travel time covered up to 4 hours from site (anything beyond is in your own time)
