Job summary

Morson Edge is recruiting Quality Inspectors for a major Nuclear Programme at Devonport, Plymouth. You will provide civil oversight of all quality activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Role involves night shifts, reporting, and ensuring compliance with ITPs and Quality Plans. Market rates apply, with travel expenses covered within 4 hours of site. First month days, then nights.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality inspections on construction projects.
• Experience in civil construction.
• Ability to read civil standards, specifications and drawings.
• Nuclear or MOD experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide Quality Control (QC) inspection per specifications and ITP requirements.
• Attend Kick-Off meetings and Pre-Inspection Production Meetings (PIPM).
• Participate in Supply Chain Pre-Assessments and Capability Reviews.
• Ensure Dimensional Reports are produced with verification of critical parameters.
• Monitor adherence to Procedures, Technique Sheets, Quality Plans and ITPs.
• Ensure personnel undertaking work/tasks meet SQEP requirements.
• Witness execution of work tasks, inspections, and tests.
• Verify calibration of inspection equipment to contract requirements.
• Report and verify inspection findings and any deviations.
• Produce and circulate Inspection Reports (Daily/Weekly).
• Report progress to the Quality Engineer/Quality Manager.
• Create Lifetime Quality Records and ensure timely verification.

Job description

We are recruiting Quality Inspectors to join the existing team on a major Nuclear Programme at Devonport, Plymouth

The successful Candidates will provide civil oversight of all quality related activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Market Rates apply

Night Shifts 7pm -5:30am

The first month will be day shifts then will move to nights.

Rate uplifts for Monday to Thursday and for Weekend working

4 days on / 4 days off

Travelling expenses cover up to 4 hours from Site

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• Provide Quality Control (QC) Inspection in accordance with relevant specifications and ITP requirement
• Attend Kick-Off meetings and where applicable Pre-Inspection Production Meetings (PIPM)
• Participate in Supply Chain Pre-Assessments and Capability Reviews (where requested)
• Ensure Dimensional Reports are produced and include verification of critical parameters identified in the Drawings, Quality Plan and ITP.
• Monitor adherence to approved Procedures, Technique Sheets, Quality Plans and ITPs.
• Ensure only SQEP personnel undertake work tasks, inspection and testing activities
• Witness execution of work tasks, inspection and testing activities, Factory and Site Acceptance Tests
• During inspection and test activities verify that the Contractors inspection and test equipment is calibrated to contractual requirements (contract requirement may require calibration to be performed by UKAS accredited calibration body or is traceable to UKAS calibrated equipment)
• Ensure that any inspection findings are appropriately reported, corrected, and verified.
• Ensure the production/construction environment and equipment used is suitable for manufacture, installation, inspection or test.
• Produce and circulate Inspection Reports (Daily/Weekly) as per agreed reporting requirements.
• Report progress to the Quality Engineer / Quality Manager
• Ensure Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs) are generated concurrent with manufacturing and site activities, and ensure verification of records is carried out in a timely manner and report deviations to this process
• Carry out Final Inspection and Issue of Certificate of Release, or other contract specific release certificate
• Where applicable complete a Contract Close Out Report.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in quality and/or inspections in construction projects
• Previous experience in Civil construction
• Ability to understand Civil Standards, specifications and drawings
• Nuclear or MOD Experience
• Microsoft Office capable/literate
• Previous experience in quality and inspections in construction projects of a similar size and complexity
• ** Ability to obtain SC Clearance (must be British Citizens with full British Passport and not have worked outside the UK during the past 5 years)

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

• Civil Qualification or suitable experience in similar environment
• ISO 9001 Auditor
• HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or similar
• CSCS Card
