Job summary

A leading company in England seeks a skilled QA/QC Inspector for a 6-month project in Barrow-in-Furness. Job Description

Do you currently hold a valid CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 welding inspector certification and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in welding inspection?

Do you have hands-on experience with VT, PT, and MT inspection techniques, and how you've applied them in a fabrication or construction environment?

Are you experienced working in a multi-discipline construction or fabrication team, supporting the QA/QC processes in that environment?

The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced QA/QC Inspector to join our team, based in Barrow-in-Furness. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-profile project, supporting quality assurance and control efforts on-site and ensuring industry-leading standards are maintained throughout the welding and fabrication processes.

The Role

Contract Estimated Duration – 6 months

This role has been deemed inside of IR35

Your Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Quality Manager and supporting the Site Quality Lead Team, you will be responsible for:
  • Delivering high-quality, consistent, and competent inspection services before, during, and after welding, in compliance with company and project requirements.
  • Ensuring all work is executed safely and with zero negative impact on personnel, the environment, or assets.
  • Reading and interpreting relevant procedures, policies, drawings, and job cards to guide inspection activities.
  • Supporting construction teams with integrated QA/QC inspection services as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compiling complete and accurate quality documentation in accordance with contractual and company standards.
  • Applying strong working knowledge of fabrication, NDT (Non-Destructive Testing), and welding inspection techniques, including:
  • Visual Testing (VT)
  • Penetrant Testing (PT)
  • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
  • Dimensional Inspection

You will have the following Qualifications & Experience

  • CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector or CSWIP 3.2 Senior Welding Inspector
  • CSWIP/PCN Level II in Penetrant Testing
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Welding Inspector
  • Solid understanding of Health & Safety practices within a QA/QC environment

Its great if you also have the following

  • PCN Level II in:
  • Magnetic Particle Inspection
  • Radiographic Interpretation
  • BGAS-CSWIP/ICorr/NACE Coatings Inspector Certification
  • Existing DV/SC Security Clearance
