Quality Assurance Officer

Location: Kingston upon Thames
Contract: 1 Year Fixed Term
Hours: 36 hours per week
Rate: £28/hour (Umbrella)
Start Date: ASAP


About the Role: Kingston Council is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Officer to join their Adult Social Care (ASC) team. This is a key role within the commissioning and contract management function, focused on improving the quality of care delivered by commissioned services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for proactive monitoring, data analysis, and engagement with providers, helping ensure that adults receiving care experience high-quality, safe, and responsive services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake regular quality monitoring visits and checks across a portfolio of commissioned services
  • Collate and analyse quality assurance intelligence from multiple sources: audits, observations, questionnaires, and service user feedback
  • Assess the quality of care and compliance with contractual, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Identify areas for improvement and make clear recommendations to stakeholders
  • Capture and use service user and carer feedback to drive improvements
  • Raise service quality concerns through the Council’s governance framework
  • Share market intelligence and coordinate with operational teams and partner agencies
  • Support in the management of provider suspensions or service failure, ensuring continuity of care
  • Develop, monitor, and report on provider action plans and risk assessments
Candidate Requirements:
  • Experience in quality assurance, contract monitoring, or related roles in social care
  • Strong understanding of adult social care standards, safeguarding, and regulatory frameworks
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills
  • Confident engaging with providers, professionals, and service users
  • Able to manage a varied workload across multiple services
  • Knowledge of risk management and provider performance frameworks
