A leading manufacturer of hydraulic and industrial equipment is looking to strengthen its QA team and recruit a Quality Assurance Officer.

This role will be integrated into the Compliance team and will report directly to the Operations Director. The Quality Team strives for excellence and continuous improvement. They ensure that all processes, from raw materials to finished goods, follow the company and quality standards, and that compliance with ISO and QAN is always maintained.

The successful candidate will have a key role in supporting the Quality Management System and developing the best business processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The role includes key responsibilities and some shared tasks overlapping with the QA Team Leader:

  • Conduct goods inwards inspection within KPI-driven timelines.
  • Manage stock of gauges, maintain recalibration register, and ensure gauges are calibrated.
  • Ensure management of REACH, Rosh, CMRT, and COSH regulations.
  • Maintain Health & Safety compliance.
  • Advise on waste control, WEEE, and battery compliance.
  • Understand CE/UKCA requirements.
  • Implement and maintain industry standards.
  • Manage changes to QMS, ISO, and QAN processes.
  • Use inspection and measurement equipment, including CMM Aberlink, Mitutoyo Surface Measurement, Trimos Height Gauge, Bore, Thread, and Plug Gauges.
  • Implement TQM principles.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Apply inspection methods.
  • Investigate non-conformities, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Shared Tasks:

  • Lead quality projects to improve effectiveness, product quality, and H&S, presenting improvements to stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Support procedures, work instructions, and SOPs.
  • Analyze inspection and compliance data to assess business performance.

Skills & Responsibilities:

  • 3+ years experience in manufacturing or similar industry.
  • HND or equivalent in engineering.
  • Identify risks and areas for development.
  • Assist in technical investigations.
  • Attention to detail with strong communication skills.
  • Team player with initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Self-starter capable of proposing solutions.
  • Work under pressure with tight deadlines and changing priorities.
