Job Description:

Our client is a successful business that designs and manufactures a variety of own label and branded gift wrap, stationery, ceramics, and gifts for major retail chains.

To support the Operations team in managing increasing workload, they require a Quality Manager working 4 days a week, 28 hours, ideally based in the office in West Yorkshire. Occasional work from home may be permitted.

The role involves collecting, collating, and inputting technical specifications on paper-based and gift products for major UK retailers. Experience in relevant product areas and understanding retailer’s technical systems would be advantageous.

Responsibilities will include:

  1. Working closely daily with the Production Team.
  2. Liaising regularly with offshore suppliers to ensure manufacturing or production processes meet quality standards.
  3. Managing internal QC warehouse checks, raised nonconformities, and suppliers’ pre-shipment inspections.
  4. Liaising with customer technical staff to provide technical information as needed.
  5. Managing customer technical projects and meeting deadlines.
  6. Supporting the Production Team to keep technical administration updated and properly stored on in-house systems.
  7. Working with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from suppliers.
  8. Reviewing product safety and arranging third-party testing as necessary.
  9. Collating packaging data for the company’s Packaging Data return.

Skills and experience:

  • Highly organized with a methodical and focused approach, and great attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to work to deadlines both independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant experience with retailers’ technical systems.
  • Knowledge or experience of the retail and manufacturing sectors is advantageous.
