Quality Assurance Manager

My Client, an award-winning food manufacturer based in the Dorchester area, is looking to recruit a Quality Assurance Manager / Quality Manager. Reporting into the site Technical Manager, the successful candidate's main remit will be to lead and motivate the Quality Assurance team in monitoring and evaluating product and processing systems. Main accountabilities will include understanding and applying relevant standards so that company, customer, and legal requirements are achieved and maintained.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Understanding and applying relevant standards & codes of practice to ensure business, customer, BRC, and legal requirements are met.
  2. Ensuring that the requirements of HACCP are implemented, maintained, and achieved.
  3. Involvement in the evaluation of risks and defining controls prior to the introduction of a new process, product, or raw material.
  4. Driving quality standards across the factory, maintaining a culture of high performance and compliance.
  5. Understanding, implementing, and reviewing documented quality management systems to enable production of the agreed safety and quality standards.
  6. Supporting operations with compilation and document control of operational procedures, overseeing the completion and retrieval to maintain traceability.
  7. Managing and responding to internal and external complaints, identifying root causes.
  8. Supporting the Technical Manager and business with management of audits, hosting audits as appropriate, and managing responses & close out of non-conformance reports from audits.
  9. Leading, motivating, and managing the training & development requirements of the QA team, ensuring that direct reports are equipped to undertake their roles and achieve personal development and continuous improvement.
  10. Managing the lab portal to ensure testing suites are up to date, results are analyzed, and leading root cause investigations with appropriate operational and hygiene teams as required.
  11. Generating technical business KPI information, communicating, trending, and highlighting issues, and developing and agreeing action plans to drive the business forward through Continuous Improvement.
Skills / Experience Required:
  1. Previous Quality Management experience in the Food Industry
  2. HACCP
  3. Good communicator and people person

This role may suit a person that has previously worked in a QA, QC, Quality Assurance, QSM, or Compliance role. This role is commutable from Weymouth, Dorchester, Yeovil, Blandford, and Poole.
