Job description

Quality Manager

Location: Rochester, Kent | Salary: £35,000–£40,000 | Full-time

We’re excited to be supporting a fast-growing new business at the forefront of its field. With a pioneering approach and rapid expansion, this company is looking for a proactive and ambitious Quality Manager ready to roll up their sleeves and play a foundational role in establishing robust quality processes. This is a unique opportunity to join at an early stage, shape the Quality Management System (QMS) from the ground up, and develop your own team as the business scales.

About the Role

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys making a tangible impact. You’ll be instrumental in designing and implementing a compliant, efficient QMS — laying the foundations for a culture of continuous improvement. Working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, you’ll ensure products and processes not only meet industry standards but exceed customer expectations.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the development and rollout of a company-wide QMS, aligned with ISO 9001 or equivalent.
  • Oversee internal and external audits, and manage compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Embed quality best practices across product development, production, and supply chain.
  • Define and monitor quality KPIs, using data to drive improvements and corrective actions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures (CAPA).
  • Support supplier quality assurance, including audits and onboarding.
  • Deliver training and champion a strong quality culture across all teams.
  • Present quality performance insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a quality management role within manufacturing (ideally medical devices or a similarly regulated sector).
  • Proven track record implementing and maintaining a QMS.
  • Strong knowledge of quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, DMAIC, 5 Whys, 8D, etc.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage across teams.
  • Ambition to grow and lead a team as the business evolves.

Bonus Points For:

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor).
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 or FDA 21 CFR Part 820.
  • Experience with quality or ERP software platforms.
  • Project management skills or certifications.

If you're a hands-on quality professional ready to take ownership and grow with a dynamic business, we’d love to hear from you.
