Job summary

Places for People is hiring a Quality Assurance Manager to lead quality across our developments. You will support site teams, contractors and suppliers to meet regulatory and company quality standards, ensuring customer satisfaction and high build quality.

You will carry out inspections, drive continuous improvement, and provide coaching on QA processes. The role covers field sites across Cambridgeshire and East Anglia with travel as required.

Qualifications

  • Proven QA experience in construction.
  • Experience inspecting and monitoring quality across residential projects.
  • Strong knowledge of QA processes and legal standards.
  • Ability to coach teams and drive continuous improvement.

We're looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join our Places Developments team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of construction quality across our developments, supporting site teams, contractors and suppliers to deliver exceptional homes and an outstanding customer experience.

Location

Field based across Cambridgeshire and East Anglia covering Bedfordshire Hertfordshire, Suffolk and Norfolk. You'll be conveniently placed to travel across your designated area

More about your role

Reporting to the Head of Customer Service, you'll be responsible for maintaining oversight of quality throughout all stages of the construction process. Working closely with site management teams, contractors and suppliers, you'll ensure our developments are delivered in line with company quality standards, regulatory requirements and customer expectations.

You'll carry out inspections and commissioning activities across developments, assess completed homes against legal and quality standards, and champion continuous improvement initiatives across the region. Acting as a subject matter expert, you'll provide technical guidance, training and coaching to support the successful implementation of quality management processes and best practice.

You'll attend design and pre-start meetings, monitor site performance, support quality management system (QMS) compliance and work collaboratively with site teams to drive improvements that enhance build quality, customer satisfaction and operational performance.

More About You

To be eligible for an interview for this role, you must have proven Quality Assurance experience within the construction industry and an in-depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards.

  • You have experience undertaking inspections and monitoring quality across residential construction projects.
  • You have a strong understanding of quality management systems, continuous improvement methodologies and industry best practice.
  • You're confident influencing, coaching and developing both internal teams and external contractors.
  • You can identify quality issues, implement corrective actions and support teams in delivering consistent standards.
  • You have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • You're highly organised and able to manage multiple developments and priorities effectively.
  • You work collaboratively, see the bigger picture and contribute positively to wider business objectives.
  • You're confident using IT systems and producing clear reports and documentation.

You’ll also benefit from holding:

  • A Level 6 NVQ in Site Inspection or Site Management

  • MCIOB
  • SMSTS
  • Strong coaching, mentoring and people development experience
