Job summary

Wipro is looking for a QA Automation Lead to work within our Quality Engineering team, supporting complex banking, treasury, payments and transaction-processing applications.

As a QA Automation Lead, you will lead test planning, automation strategy and quality engineering across user interfaces, APIs, services, databases, files and integration layers. You will combine hands-on automation expertise with technical leadership to improve test coverage, automation efficiency and overall release quality.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead the automation strategy, test planning and quality engineering delivery for complex banking, treasury and payments applications
• Design, develop and optimise reusable automation frameworks using Java, Selenium, Cucumber, BDD and related technologies
• Deliver functional, integration, regression, API, database, ETL, file-processing and data-quality testing
• Validate payment workflows, data mappings, transformations, reconciliations, interfaces and structured message formats
• Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines and lead defect triage, reporting and root-cause analysis
• Coordinate testing across geographically distributed teams and provide technical guidance to QA engineers and automation developers

Mandatory Skills

• Java-based automation using Selenium, Cucumber, BDD, TestNG or JUnit
• Designing and maintaining reusable enterprise automation frameworks
• API and web-service testing using Rest Assured, Postman, SoapUI, REST, SOAP, JSON and XML
• SQL and PL/SQL, including complex data validation against Oracle databases
• ETL, database, data-conversion, file-processing and reconciliation testing
• CI/CD and engineering tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Maven, Gradle and Jenkins
• Test and defect-management tools such as Jira, HP ALM, Quality Center or Octane

Banking and Payments Knowledge

• Banking, treasury, payments, credit cards or transaction services
• Payment-processing workflows, reconciliation and data-quality validation
• SWIFT, CAMT, MT messages, BAI2, XML, XPath, CSV and other structured file formats
• Quality, compliance and traceability requirements within regulated environments
• Playwright, UFT, LeanFT, Litmus or equivalent automation tools
• Python, Gherkin, Unix/Linux and shell scripting
• MongoDB or other NoSQL database technologies
• Kafka, messaging systems, Kubernetes and containerised applications
• AI-assisted testing tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot or AI agents
• AI-supported test generation, defect analysis and automation optimisation
