Role

We are looking for a Quality Assurance ESG Analyst to join our successful ESG team. This is a Home Based role with some occasional travel to the office required.

Role and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for conducting Quality Assurance (QA) of clients’ ESG deliverables to include Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) assessments and reports; Streamlined Environmental and Carbon Reporting (SECR); Climate Scenarios; Scope 1, 2 and 3 calculations and reports; and Net Zero Strategies. Also, you will conduct ISO 9001 internal audits and external assurance services for clients, for example, verification of GHG emissions to meet ISO 14064 and comply with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). In addition, you will be involved in developing and updating Quality Assurance procedures for a range of ESG services, to meet the latest regulations, guidance and best practice standards.

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Responsible for QA checks and audit trails for client deliverables, to ensure there are no omissions or misstatements. For example, Scope 1, 2 and 3 calculations and reports; climate scenario analysis; and ESG assessments.
  • Conduct external assurance services for clients. For example, verification of GHG emissions to meet ISO 14064 and CSRD.
  • Strong project planning, prioritisation and communication skills, to consult with colleagues to meet client deadlines.
  • Project manage QA services, to help manage your individual and team’s workload.
  • Provide training to staff members as part of continuous improvement measures.
  • Develop and update ESG procedures, in line with regulations, guidance and best practice standards. For example, SECR and CSRD disclosures.
  • Identify opportunities and make recommendations for improving ESG workstreams.
  • Review and keep up to date with new policies and legislation, associated with ESG services.
  • Read and comply with the company’s Health and Safety Policy; taking reasonable care for the Health and Safety of themselves and others; co-operate with managers and other employees in fulfilling our objectives and statutory duties
Experience and Qualifications
  • Degree in STEM / Humanities discipline or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of one year of ESG experience.
  • An awareness and understanding of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
  • An ability to QA clients’ ESG deliverables.
  • Advanced user of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong report writing capabilities, to write QA processes.
  • An ability to project manage multiple projects.
  • 2+ years of experience in consultancy or analytical roles, focusing on carbon or broader environmental management.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency, renewable energy technology and climate models.
  • Experience in conducting audits, for example, ISO 9001 or ISO 14001.
  • Experience in conducting assurance services for clients, for example, ISO 14064 or CSRD.
  • Experience with conducting carbon footprint calculations (Scopes 1, 2 and 3).
  • Experience in providing training to staff members.
  • Experience in writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
