Quality Assurance Engineer, Tablet Product Software

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer for next generation Tablet devices. As a QAE, you will serve as the quality strategy owner for cross-functional projects, scope test requirements, automation, and creating quality test plans. You will get the opportunity to define quality metrics for complex projects, and identify trends to prevent future defects. You will work closely with Engineering, Product and UX teams as you develop high quality test plans for new features. As a QAE, you will also get multiple opportunities to show your leadership skills and recommend improvements to the way systems are designed and tested across Amazon Tablets.

Key job responsibilities
Define and create test strategy, write test plans and design test cases

Help define and lead the Quality Assurance process

Implement best practices; including a variety of different testing protocols, tools and metrics

Work closely with the multiple development teams to assure test coverage

Promote QA productivity through automation, tools, and other best practices

Assist in building tools and frameworks for automated testing

Work with remote teams to enable delivery of test artifacts

Execute functional, regression tests, performance and stress testing

About the team
Amazon Tablet Engineering team in Chennai is responsible for many of the system applications, Alexa integration, Universal Search, Onboarding, Maps and several other functions of the Fire Tablets. Work spans across Android development on Java/Kotlin, building services, extensive use of AWS, Web applications, and a touch of Deep Learning. You get to work with highly capable engineers on hard problems to make it exciting for our customers to use Fire Tablets.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 4+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
- Experience in manual testing
- Experience in automation testing
- Experience scripting or coding
- Experience as QA lead on medium to large sized projects

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with at least one automated test framework like Selenium or Appium
- Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality
