Job summary

Industrial Connected Talent is supporting an established precision engineering business in Weymouth, United Kingdom, to recruit a Quality Engineer focused on compliance, customer requirements, continuous improvement and reducing the Cost of Poor Quality. You will work closely with the Compliance Manager and operations teams across a busy manufacturing environment.

  • Collaborative approach with the ability to work across multiple departments.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or quality management systems would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate non-conformances and shop-floor quality issues.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D, DMAIC, 5 Whys and Ishikawa.
  • Support continuous improvement projects to reduce Cost of Poor Quality.
  • Create and maintain customer documentation packs and quality records.
  • Support maintenance and improvement of the Integrated Management System.
  • Conduct internal audits and support customer, supplier and regulatory audits.
  • Manage corrective actions, change notes and customer complaint investigations.
  • Work cross-functionally to improve quality performance across the business.

Introduction for Quality Engineer

Industrial Connected Talent is supporting an established precision engineering business in the search for a Quality Engineer.

This is a varied quality engineering role focused on compliance, customer requirements, continuous improvement and reducing the Cost of Poor Quality. You will work closely with the Compliance Manager and operational teams across a busy precision manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities for Quality Engineer

As Quality Engineer, you will support quality improvement activity across machining, fabrication and manufacturing operations. You will investigate non-conformances, support audits and customer requirements, and use structured problem-solving techniques to drive corrective actions and process improvements.

Requirements for Quality Engineer

The ideal candidate will have experience within precision engineering, machining or manufacturing and be comfortable working with engineering drawings, quality documentation and structured problem-solving methods.

  • Knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication, organisation and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage priorities and work effectively under pressure
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to work across multiple departments
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or quality management systems would be beneficial
Desirable Experience for Quality Engineer
  • Experience with 8D, DMAIC, 5 Whys or Ishikawa problem-solving methods
  • APQP knowledge including PPAP, Control Plans, DFMEA and PFMEA
  • Experience producing FAIRs to AS9102
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or welding compliance requirements
  • Experience within CNC machining, fabrication, welding or precision manufacturing
