At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Quality Assurance Engineer at our Devonport Royal Dockyard site and play your part.

The Role

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you’ll ensure projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards. You will support projects in defining quality requirements and collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure design intent is achieved.

  1. Support early-stage project quality requirement definition
  2. Interface with Project Management on quality-related matters
  3. Review and improve project deliverable documentation
  4. Conduct internal audits
  5. Develop and maintain KPIs and metrics
  6. Represent the quality department in weekly project/programme meetings when required

This full-time role is based at Devonport Royal Dockyard with a hybrid work-from-home arrangement and periodic travel to other sites.

Experience of the Quality Assurance Engineer
  • Awareness of quality management systems (BS EN ISO)
  • Ability to act competently, decisively, and quickly on quality issues
  • Experience in the nuclear sector is beneficial
Qualifications
  • Educated to HNC / HND level in a relevant subject (desirable)
  • Recognised professional qualification in Quality Management (desirable)
