Job description

Quality Assurance Engineer - Luton - £40,000-£45,000
Hello Recruitment is pleased to be hiring for a prestigious engineering company based in Luton.

About the role

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will ensure that our client's final product observes the company's quality standards. As a detail-oriented professional, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of inspection activities, the detection and resolution of problems, and the delivery of satisfactory outcomes.

Main Duties:
  1. Create, prepare, and implement the ITP and any associated and relevant directives, procedures, and instructions needed to support the plan.
  2. Develop and manage the quality control and quality assurance procedures and conformance reviews ensuring contract requirements are met.
  3. Review enquiry documents and prepare summary QA/QC documentation as part of quotation submission.
  4. Purchase text checking and amending to Requirements.
  5. Prepare and maintain product specifications and process procedures, including monitoring approval records (Agility System).
  6. Control of contract quality plans and monitor live QP's for daily status.
  7. Control of CAPA's, ECR's.
  8. Certificate checks and stamped sign off against standards and HT PO text.
  9. Control of Sub-Contract deliveries monitoring progress, compliance, and due dates.
  10. Maintain and control of weld & welder qualifications where appropriate.
  11. Ensure changes in specifications are reflected in accordance with Engineering Manager's requirements.
  12. Monitor and incorporate changes to QA compliance incorporating relevant design codes (ASME, API, etc.)
  13. Provide quality support to Sales, Operations, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, and Test.
  14. Participate or lead quality improvement projects.
  15. Participate in supplier and internal and external QA audit activity.
  16. Check material certification against material standards.
  17. Approve suppliers ITP's and procedures.
  18. Review/ amend/ create HT procedures.
What you will need:
  1. Minimum of 5 years' experience within a QAE role.
  2. Aerospace Specifications Knowledge OR MoD/BAE/ Rolls Royce Specification Knowledge.
  3. Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings.
  4. Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel.
  5. UK Passport Holder (not dual).
  6. PCN/SNT Knowledge.
  7. A Full Driving Licence.
Desirable:
  1. Knowledge of GS3001 (RR Supplier Quality Management system requirements).
  2. BPSS clearance (security).
  3. NNPPI clearance (security).
  4. MoD/BAE/ below clearance.
  5. Experience Accreditation Check (AC).
  6. Counter Terrorist Check (CTC).
  7. Level 1B.
  8. Security Check (SC).
  9. Developed Vetting (DV).
  10. ISO 19443 Nuclear requirements.
  11. Epicor System Knowledge (Job planning).
  12. Knowledge of ISO.
  13. IBR/PED.
  14. Internal & External Auditing experience.
