Job Description:

Join an ambitious fintech building modern, scalable infrastructure — and help shape how quality is owned and executed across their backend systems.

We’re hiring a Backend QA Engineer to take ownership of a mature Java and Rest Assured test automation framework, used to test APIs connected to a microservices environment. You’ll maintain and extend what’s already working - and play a big part in improving coverage and efficiency.

What you’ll be doing:

• Running and refactoring an existing Rest Assured framework
• Testing APIs that interact with a modern microservices architecture
• Working closely with developers to improve automation coverage while still supporting some manual testing (at least in the short term)
• Advocating for practical, scalable quality solutions

Must-Have Experience:

• Strong Java + Rest Assured for API test automation
• Comfortable in fast-paced, agile teams
• Able to own and evolve a mature framework
• Strong communicator – proactive and pragmatic in your approach

Nice to Have:

• Exposure to Kafka or other messaging systems
• Fintech background – especially in payments, cards, lending, or credit
• Previous experience in startups or scale-ups

Location: Remote (UK only)

Salary: Up to £75,000
