Overview

Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer

Location: Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute

Compensation: Up to £45,000 depending on experience + Benefits

The role

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll be at the heart of our mission to deliver excellence in engineering and infrastructure. You'll support the Infrastructure Directorate and its supply chain by ensuring compliance with quality standards, driving continuous improvement, and helping to maintain the highest levels of safety and performance. Responsibilities

• Supporting the Infrastructure Compliance team to deliver quality assurance across engineering disciplines
• Attending technical and organisational meetings, offering expert advice on safety and compliance
• Ensuring all tasks meet Babcock\'s cost, time, and quality standards
• Implementing safety, quality, and environmental policies to promote safe working practices
• Participating in corporate audits and driving corrective and preventive actions

This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at HMNB Clyde Faslane.

Essential experience

• Strong background in Quality Assurance within an engineering environment
• Experience leading or supporting internal and external quality audits
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, tools, and techniques
• Familiarity with risk management, procurement, and regulatory compliance
• Skilled in root cause analysis and product investigation techniques

Qualifications

• ISO 9001 certification
• HNC in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent
• Lead Auditor training - Desirable
• CQI Level 3 Certificate or Chartered Member of CQI - Desirable
• Train the Trainer certification - Desirable

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
