Job summary

MMC Workforce Solutions is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer for Exeter to oversee QA/QC across a civil engineering and groundworks package. You will implement QA procedures, manage ITPs and maintain quality records on site.

The role requires reading drawings, managing NCRs, and coordinating with site teams to ensure compliance with specifications and standards. Immediate start offered on a busy Exeter project.

Qualifications

• Experience in QA/QC within construction or civil engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience producing and managing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with site teams.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain project QA/QC procedures.
• Prepare and manage Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Complete and maintain quality records and inspection documentation.
• Carry out inspections of works against drawings, specifications and ITP requirements.
• Manage concrete records, pour documentation and associated quality checks.
• Monitor drainage, foundations, reinforcement and slab installations.
• Raise, manage and close out NCRs.
• Coordinate with Site Engineers, Site Management and subcontractors.
• Ensure works comply with project specifications, drawings and relevant standards.
• Compile handover and quality assurance documentation.
• Maintain accurate records throughout the project.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining quality standards across the groundworks and civil engineering package.

Scope of works includes:

• Groundworks
• Reinforced concrete slabs
• Foundations
• Drainage and underground services
• Concrete worksExcavations and backfilling
• Associated civil engineering works

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain project QA/QC procedures
• Prepare and manage Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
• Complete and maintain quality records and inspection documentation
• Carry out inspections of works against drawings, specifications and ITP requirements
• Manage concrete records, pour documentation and associated quality checks

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous QA/Quality Engineering experience within construction or civil engineering
• Strong groundworks and reinforced concrete experience

• Experience producing and managing ITPs and quality records
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to work closely with site teams
