A leading company in defense and aerospace is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer in Coventry. The role focuses on ensuring high-quality standards through inspections and audits in a manufacturing setting. You will contribute to critical safety measures affecting military and security personnel globally.

Location: Coventry, UK
Hours: 08:00-16:35 (Mon–Thu) 08:00-15:10 (Fri)
Vacancy Type: Permanent, full time and based on-site.
Salary: £37,500 - £42,500 per annum + Discretionary Bonus + Benefits

You’ll work across the full product lifecycle – from complex inspections and batch tests to regulatory sign-offs and root cause analysis. Whether it’s a ballistic helmet or a vehicle platform, you’ll be the quality voice ensuring our high standards never slip.

Lead detailed inspections including NDT scans and CMM analysis.
Manage and sign off first-off samples, FAIRs, ISIRs, and PPAPs.
Own traceability, batch testing reviews, and Certificates of Conformity.
Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement using 8D/5WHY.
Build and deliver a Process Audit schedule to support our compliance goals.
Collaborate with teams across Engineering, Procurement, and Supplier Quality.
Quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment – defence, aerospace or automotive preferred.
Familiarity with ISO 9001, BSI and MOD audit requirements.
Expertise in root cause analysis (8D, 5WHY), with a continuous improvement mindset.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced IT skills for report generation, audit planning, and document control.
Proven experience in a similar role.
Engineering or manufacturing degree (or equivalent experience).
Discretionary bonus (paid twice yearly)
