Job Title: Quality Assurance Coordinator Food Import & Wholesale
Location: Rubery, Birmingham (Office-based/ 1 day WFH)
Salary: cir £35,000pa + Annual Bonus
Job Type: Full-time

About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and driven Quality Assurance Coordinator to join a fast-growing and dynamic food import and distribution company. This is a key role for someone who is passionate about food safety, quality assurance and compliance looking to make a real impact within a growing organisation.

You'll be responsible for implementing, managing and developing the company's food safety and quality assurance systems, working across multiple product categories and supplier networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain quality assurance procedures and documentation in line with UK regulations
  • Stay up-to-date on food industry standards, legislation and best practices
  • Maintain supplier databases, product specifications, technical documentation and traceability systems
  • Ensure packaging and labelling compliance for all imported and distributed products
  • Handle quality-related customer complaints, working with suppliers and internal teams for resolution
  • Support and potentially lead the implementation of BRCGS Agent & Broker certification
  • Liaise regularly with suppliers, internal teams, and customers regarding quality standards
  • Assist with procurement and supply chain quality improvements as needed

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Degree in Food Science or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in food quality assurance within the UK food industry
  • Strong working knowledge of BRCGS/IFS Standards, HACCP, UK/EU food regulations
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Confident communicator with a positive, hands-on attitude
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
