Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-2 years in a compliance role within the mortgage or financial services industry.
  • Understanding of UK mortgage regulations and legislation (FCA Handbook, MCOB rules, AML, GDPR, Consumer Duty).
  • Proficiency in compliance monitoring software and mortgage CRM systems.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Associate to join our team at Tembo, a leading Mortgage and Savings Platform. The Quality Assurance Associate will join a team of file checkers and play a critical role in ensuring that all mortgage/protection files comply with regulatory and internal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Undertake regular Quality Assurance checks on adviser files (mortgage and protection).
  2. Maintain management information, provide feedback to management on findings, and track actions.
  3. Identify key areas for improvement, complete trend analysis, and provide ad hoc training to Mortgage and Insurance Teams as required.
  4. Assist with the provision of induction training to new starters on compliance requirements in the Quality Assurance checks.
  5. Support delivery of firm-wide Compliance Training.
  6. Support the Compliance team in wider responsibilities, such as reviews and reports aligned with the Compliance Monitoring Plan.
  7. Assist the Risk team with reporting and risk identification within Tembo.
  8. Collaborate with the Head of Compliance to review and update compliance policies, procedures, and checklists regularly.
  9. Provide advice and guidance to internal teams regarding regulatory requirements and best practices.
  10. Proactively identify opportunities to improve file-checking processes and operational efficiency.
  11. Assist with ad-hoc mortgage fraud reviews.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years in a compliance role within the mortgage or financial services industry, focusing on file checking or auditing.
  • CeMAP qualification is ideal but not essential.
  • Understanding of UK mortgage regulations and legislation (FCA Handbook, MCOB rules, AML, GDPR, Consumer Duty).
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify trends and challenges.
  • Proficiency in compliance monitoring software and mortgage CRM systems.
